Fforde is best known for his Thursday Next series of books. This series began with his first novel, The Eyre Affair, in 2001. Thursday Next series has since produced several other fascinating books. It is important to note that Jasper Fforde books are famous for their extensive use of figures of speech such as literary allusions, metafiction, wordplay, fantasy and parody. The Eyre Affair: It is impossible to mention the best Jasper Fforde books without talking about The Eyre Affair. It is the first published work by Jasper Fforde and an introduction to his popular Thursday Next Series. The novel introduces us to alternative 1985 in Great Britain, where cloning is so real, time-travel is a hobby and literature is a precious asset. Detective Thursday Next is transferred to the Special Operations Department which deals with very unusual crimes She joins SO27, and knows very little about the other units in the SpecOps department. Their work at SO27, which involves unearthing literary fraudsters, is not only highly secretive but also very dangerous. Thursday finds out that her main assignment is to assist in apprehending a notorious criminal, Acheron Hades, who is happens to be her former professor at the university. With no photos at the police records, Thursday is lucky to be one of the few people alive who can recognize the fraudster. The team comes close to capturing Hades, an ambush that turns fatal as Hades uses his unknown superhuman abilities to withstand the gunfire and escape. While all her colleagues get killed in the gunfight, Thursday is left seriously wounded. A mysterious person helps her until the arrival of paramedics leaving behind materials that reveals to Next a fictional character, Jane Eyre. With the revelations and more literary crimes, an exciting chase begins.

Lost In A Good Book: This is the second book in the Thursday Next Series by Jasper Fforde. It is remarkably creative, imaginary and a masterpiece full of fun and breathtaking revelations that takes place three months after the end of The Eyre Affair. The innovative, resourceful and visionary literary fraud detective Thursday next is happily married to Landen. She is pregnant with his child Landen is eradicated by a The Goliath Cooperation to blackmail Thursday. Almost concurrently, her uncle’s literary innovation is going the wrong way. Thursday, with her partner and colleague Bowden Cable, are split between finding Landen or her uncle’s dwindling fortune. All the same, the two are linked and directly rely on the other. The Fourth Bear: This is the second novel in the Nursery Crimes Series by Jasper Fforde. This mystery piece was published in 2006 and features Detective Jack Spratt. He is entrusted with handling inquiries involving people with dubious reality and character. Jack is suspended pending mental review after doubts about a previous investigation he handled. Her detective partner, Mary Mary, promises to keep her updated about all the cases during his suspension. There is a genius, dangerous psychopath on the run. In as much as it is not his case, he takes it up without the knowledge of his bosses. The chase turns dangerous for him and everything about him goes from bad to worse.
