J.A. Johnstone is American bestselling author of military fiction and western novels. He is the nephew and the successor of many genres of fiction novels of the late American bestselling author William W. Johnstone. At a tender age, Johnstone was tutored by his beloved uncle and as a result ended working as his typist, assistant, fact checker, and a researcher. The author was first published in 2006, with several of his novels published the same year.

Also, Conrad is also injured in the shootout that arises, and in his mind, he only needs to survive so that he ensures that all the men involved in his wife murder are brought to justice.

Now, he fakes his death and establishes a new identity and sets off to track down the killers. He takes his dad’s name, Morgan, and thus becomes Kid Morgan, a very fast shooter with exceptional shooting skills. However, are the shooting skills good enough to get him the revenge he desires?

The Loner is fun to read a traditional western fantasy novel. The book showcases the author’s exceptional skills that make his a unique author while keeping his late uncle’s legacy alive.

The Devil’s Badland: In this second book, Conrad, the loner sets out for another thrilling showdown with the gang responsible for his wife’s death dead and after he discovers that the enemy was much closer than he had anticipated.

Now, after Conrad takes down the men who murdered his beloved wife, he travels to New Mexico to her grave. It is in New Mexico where he gets a surprise of his life. He finds his ex-girlfriend, Pamela Tarleton backed up by a group of shooters. It is revealed that Miss Pamela has never forgiven Conrad for what he did- breaking their engagement and marrying another woman. In addition to this, she blames Conrad as the man responsible for her father’s death. With a band of furious kill crazy outlaws as a backup for Pamela, the only way to come to this shooting game is by the gun.

Dead Man’s Gold: Dead Man’s Gold is the third novel in the Loner series by American bestselling author, J.A Johnstone.

With everyone responsible for his wife’s death dead and buried, the Loner makes a turn to Mexico to get some rest. It is in Mexico where he gets sidetracked by some people in search of a valuable golden artifact. His new friends are two pilgrims in search of an artifact pursued by an Italian count. They are not the only ones in search of the artifact, and they encounter another gang in search of the treasure, and as a result, a gun battle ensues in the New Mexico wasteland territory.

Dead Man’s Gold is a great novel presenting some excellent writings, with terrific characters and a satisfying reading experience. The plot is very well presented throughout and the traveling presented involving the characters could make the reader turn on the air conditioner and reach for a glass of water. The characters are well thought and developed with some spectacular touches.

A fascinating part of this novel is that it has some historical bits as the foundation of the story. How the whole story is resolved is well written is well presented.

J A Johnstone doesn't seem to have an upcoming book. Their newest book is The Devil You Know and was released on August, 22nd 2021. It is the newest book in the Stoneface Finnegan Series.
