BEST CLARE MACKINTOSH BOOKS

Three of Clare Mackintosh most beloved works include the likes of:

I Let You Go: The lead character in the novel is Jenna, a woman desperate to get away from the devastation of a hit-and-run accident that had changed her life for good. She is feeling lost and believes that life in a small Welsh village will help her clear her head and start anew. But as much as she tries to put the past behind her, it is almost an impossible task until she decides to confront things.

She is living every mother’s nightmare and only has Investigator Ray Stevens and his team to look to for justice. It is a great psychological thriller with an emotional twist that completely changes the dynamic of the narrative to culminate in an explosive ending.

Let Me Lie: Another great psychological thriller about one of the worst tragedies a person has to endure – losing both parents. Anna Johnson the lead in the novel loses her father who commits suicide and barely weeks later her mother dies in similar circumstances at exactly the same spot. What makes the tragedy even harder to take is the fact that she is having to face up to the demands of being a new mother too.

However, she receives several cryptic emails that make her doubt the police story about her parents committing suicide. She starts to think that maybe her parents had been murdered. As the twists and turns only seem to increase, she seeks the help of Murray, an ex-police detective that is also dealing with a wife with deep psychological issues. Anna thinks that if she is correct about her suspicions, then maybe she and her daughter and maybe even her boyfriend may be the next targets of the killer. Could they resolve the mystery of her parents’ death so that she can banish her terrible memories for good?

I See You: One of the most interesting novels by Clare Mackintosh. It is a claustrophobic and dark thriller about a woman bored with her mundane life. Her life is the same old drudgery of walking to the train station, waiting for the train, and sitting on nearly the same spot in the car every day. She has never suspected that with her dreary life anyone would be interested in her, until an ordinary commute back home turns into a nightmare.

While perusing the local newspaper classified, she sees her face staring right back at her in a listing she never placed. She is supposedly looking for love on a dating website she has never heard of. She thinks nothing of it when the ad changes to a different woman the following day and never sees her grainy picture again. But researching the women in the ad, she is shocked to learn that the women in the ad are reported victims of the violent crimes of murder and rape.

She seeks the help of a detective who soon discovers that the ads have a twisted purpose throwing Zoe into a panic. She is certain that she is the target of someone who put her picture in the ad. Now every man seems to be a possible kidnapper even if it is just the friendly man in the car smiling at her. For all she knows he could be preparing to make his move at the next stop.

WHEN DOES THE NEXT CLARE MACKINTOSH BOOK COME OUT?

At the moment, Clare Mackintosh does not seem to have an upcoming book. Her newest book written in 2018 was Let Me Lie which was released on March 8th, 2018. Based on the current rate of writing, you can probably expect another book in 2020. That is just a guess though and now that Clare is a full-time writer her pace could pick up. Whatever it is, I’m excited to see what she comes up with next.
