Her mother did not observe any obvious signs of talent. But she never doubted her daughter because Sally was a single-minded child. Once she decided to do something, you couldn’t stop her.

The author did not necessarily thrive in school. She was neither the smartest nor the most athletic student. Sally’s teachers criticized the girl for being disruptive. But her mother blamed her behavior on her penchant for storytelling.

The older woman was not wrong. Sally had an instinctual understanding of the art of storytelling. Her passion for reading shaped her ability. As she matured, her desire to write fiction for a living grew.

But publishing felt like an impossible dream. She had no idea how to become an author. Sally was also convinced that publishing was the realm of older men with cabins in the woods.

She did not intend to write her first book. Or, at the very least, she did not have a clear plan. The author was 28 years old when she took her maternity leave. Even though she had a child to care for, Sally’s publishing dreams kept haunting her.

She had toyed with the idea and then dismissed it on previous occasions. But this time around, she had Google in her corner. The internet had come a long way, and it did not take Sally long to identify several resources outlining the best methods that aspiring writers could use to pen and publish their books.

Sally did not have the pressures of a deadline to overcome when she started writing her first book, which was a good thing because her time was limited. The author’s first child kept her busy. She used every free hour that came her way to write as much as possible.

Fortunately, Sally had planned her novel. Writer’s block was not a significant issue because she knew what she wanted to write whenever she sat down.

Her single-mindedness prevented the author from quitting despite the hardships. Even though she had some doubts with regards to whether or not she would finish the manuscript, those doubts did not stop Sally from writing.

In fact, the stronger the doubts became, the faster the author wrote. She paid very little attention to the quality of her words. The author’s goal was to finish the novel. Once the manuscript was done, she went back and performed the necessary edits.

It took a while for Sally’s hard work to pay off. She wrote two more books before a publishing deal came along and turned her into the successful author people know and love.

Best Sally Hepworth Books

The author speaks highly of her husband. Initially, he worked as an accountant, and he supported the family with his income while Sally tried to kickstart her publishing career. Later on, he left his job to care for the couple’s children, allowing the author to pursue her career without distractions. Sally’s best books include:

The Mother-in-Law: Lucy and Diana were hardly close. Diana thought that her son could have chosen a better wife. She was polite and respectful, but she couldn’t hide her feelings.

And yet, when Diana died, Lucy couldn’t stay out of the matter. Her mother-in-law committed suicide. Her suicide note mentioned a cancer battle, but the autopsy found no cancer.

What it found was far more disturbing: signs of suffocation and poison. But who wanted Diana dead? Why did she remove her children and their spouses from her will?

The Good Sister: Fern lives a structured life. Her twin sister Rose understands the dangerous consequences of upending Fern’s routine. When Rose realized that she couldn’t get pregnant, she was unaware of the events her discovery had triggered.

Fern was indebted to her sister. Rose had gone to great lengths to protect Fern from her bad decisions. And now, it was Fern’s turn to help Rose. If her sister couldn’t get pregnant, Fern would stand in the gap. She would carry Rose’s baby. But before she could proceed, Fern had to find a suitable father for the child.
