She spent the next 12 years drowning in poverty. The author continued to struggle with life following her graduation from Artesia High School, working as a waitress, factory worker, and secretary.
Frasier was still relatively young (21) when she married her husband. At the time, she wanted to connect with nature. The author thought a farm would suit her because she could spend her days walking barefoot, planting crops, and raising her children.
But after meeting her husband in her uncle’s bar and moving to an apple farm once they were married, Frasier’s interest in nature faded. The pesticides made her ill, and the resulting sensation of helplessness made the author unhappy.
But a silver lining was waiting around the corner. Frasier experienced a level of isolation that ignited her interest in writing genre fiction. Even though she knew next to nothing about writing or publishing, she started penning manuscripts and mailing them to random publishers after finding their addresses in books.
Frasier finally caught the eye of Simon and Schuster, who bought and published ‘The Forever Man’ under her real name (Theresa Weir). You can’t find the book today. Not only is it out of print, but the author has banished it from her bibliography.
She spent the next three decades writing novels and short stories in almost every genre. While it showcased her talents as a storyteller, Frasier also believes that it diluted her brand. Initially, romance was her primary interest.
However, finding a publisher wasn’t easy because her novels were far from conventional. Rather than relying on tried and tested tropes, Frasier told stories she enjoyed that featured dark subjects like eating disorders.
While Frasier thought her readers would appreciate her refreshing approach, publishers rejected her unlikable characters and controversial themes. They encouraged her to remove the unsavory aspects of her stories.
She responded by cutting the romance out of her manuscripts, a decision that slowly ushered her into crime fiction. Frasier has since embraced the genre as her primary interest. Although, she continues to dabble in other fields.
The author introduced the ‘Anne Frasier’ pen name in 2002 with ‘Hush.’ Since those early days, she has published several series using the pseudonym, including ‘Elisa Sandburg’ and ‘Land of the Dead.’
Anne has an unquenchable thirst for storytelling. She’s also driven by the fact that writing is her only income source. Therefore, she won’t let anything stop her from meeting her deadlines, not even writer’s block.
The author needs isolation to write. When Frasier starts a new project, it consumes her for weeks at a time. Fortunately, she has an unhealthy addiction to Facebook and Instagram. The platforms provide the author a link to the real world during those days when she shuts herself away and embraces the solitude.

Best Anne Frasier Books
The author’s influences include Alfred Hitchcock and Dr. Seuss. Frasier’s best books include:
The Body Reader: Detective Jude Fontaine spent three years in captivity. The only person she saw was her captor. She would study his face, learning to discern his thoughts by interpreting his body language.
And once she was free, Jude found that she could use that skill to read other people. But even though Jude’s ordeal had given the detective a strong desire to fight injustice, her new partner did not trust her. Uriah Ashby was convinced that Jude had a loose screw.
However, he couldn’t afford to pursue his hunch just yet, not when they had been tasked with stopping a killer before he claimed more victims.
Find Me: FBI Profiler Reni Fisher and her father, Benjamin Fisher, are estranged for a good reason. Benjamin is a convicted serial killer. Reni would like to keep her father in the past, along with the role she played in luring his victims to their deaths.
But the past won’t leave her alone. Benjamin is ready to lead detective Daniel Ellis to the graves of his victims. But he will only cooperate if Reni comes along on their journey.
