The author doesn’t know why she started writing. She knows why she continued. Wiseman’s stories are not a mere source of income. They minister to her soul because the author uses real-life experiences to craft new stories.
She also loves the way they uplift readers, renewing their faith and rejuvenating their hope. For this reason, the author appreciates some of the negative experiences she has encountered over the years.
Wiseman believes that God allowed her to survive the aches and pains of her past because, otherwise, she wouldn’t be qualified to explore the complex topics in her stories. However, the author cannot tell you what drew her to writing in the first place.
She remembers penning a story for her grandparents at six. Then she spent her adult years dabbling in journalism and freelance writing. But she couldn’t silence the voices. The stories in her head wanted to be told. They want to see the light of day.
Once she found a story worth telling, Wiseman sat down and wrote it. The author believed that her book would change someone’s life. She only intended to publish that one novel. But God took her hand and led Wiseman into a world she couldn’t have imagined.
Today, Wiseman is a successful author with a rich bibliography saturated with novels, and she has no intention of stopping. She can still recollect the sensations she felt when she won that first Carol Award.
The author was overwhelmed with so much emotion that her head ached from all the crying she did during her acceptance speech. Wiseman has come a long way. In the beginning, she couldn’t handle negative reviews.
On one occasion, she responded to a negative review by running to Facebook and complaining about it. Things took a nasty turn when her followers attacked the reviewer online.
Wiseman’s publicist scolded her, and a radio station requested to interview her about the incident. She declined their request and tried to forget the ordeal. These days, really bad reviews can still hurt her, but she knows better.
Wiseman understands that bad reviews are a sign of success. They show that an author has made their mark on the publishing landscape. Additionally, the author knows that she can’t please everyone.
She takes great joy in the spiritual and emotional rewards associated with her career, particularly the emails and letters from readers whose lives she continually changes.
Wiseman encourages young writers to study their craft. It isn’t enough to concoct a good story. No one will ever read it unless you can put it on paper. The author wrote decent stories during the earliest stages of her career, but she fell short because she hadn’t dedicated time and resources to refining her writing.
Beth Wiseman Awards
Wiseman has won Carol, Inspirational Readers Choice, and INSPY Awards. She has also won a Holt Medallion. Her books have appeared on ECPA and CBA bestseller lists.
Best Beth Wiseman Books
Even though the author is best known for writing Amish books, she has written non-Amish women’s fiction. Wiseman’s best books include:
Plain Perfect: Liliam Miller moved to Lancaster County, PA, because she wanted something new. The years hadn’t been kind to her. Even though she had survived the abuse and neglect, Lillian carried the scars.
Her encounter with Samuel Stoltzfus couldn’t have been more fortuitous. After befriending the widower’s son, Lillian’s feelings for Samuel quickly deepened. This was her chance to start afresh. But was she strong enough to abandon her former life?
Seek Me With All Your Heart: Emily Detweiler was not like other Amish who trekked to Colorado in search of cheaper land. Emily wanted to escape the tragedy that shook her faith. Her family hoped life in Canaan, Colorado, would erase her painful memories.
They never expect Emily to find solace in David. When she met Emily, David Stoltzfus was ready to leave Colorado for Paradise, Pennsylvania. She stirred unexpected emotions in David. Emily was equally surprised by her feelings for David, but she was convinced he would reject her after learning the truth.
When Does The Next Beth Wiseman book come out?
Beth Wiseman doesn't seem to have an upcoming book. Their newest book is An Amish Thanksgiving and was released on November, 5th 2024.
