She tries to pair them with heroines that can hold their own in a fight. However, every alpha male she introduces has a soft side. They don’t mind teasing and joking, even when circumstances are dire. Additionally, once they find their soul mates, they don’t flee from affection. If anything, they embrace love.

Duvall will be the first to tell you that she writes the kinds of stories she reads. This is why her bibliography is filled with tropes like ‘Friends-to-Lovers’ and ‘Fish-Out-of-water.’ Though, she is not afraid to experiment with conventional romance that explores couples who meet under normal circumstances, becoming friends before ultimately falling in love.

Duvall would like to believe that her books appeal to a variety of romance readers. Even though her stories have numerous characters, she doesn’t have to work that hard to keep track of them.

Some of her peers use whiteboards and excel sheets. But the author understands her characters so well that she always knows who they are and what they bring to the table.

Though, she doesn’t know how their arcs will unfold. The author writes by the seat of her pants. She doesn’t plot her novels out before she writes them. As a result, in most cases, when she sits down to pen a new book, Duvall cannot tell you where her protagonist will go in the story, who their romantic interest will be or how their happy ending will come about.

She wants the story to advance organically. Interestingly enough, even though she writes long-running series, she crafts each novel in a manner that allows the story to stand on its own.
That is to say; you don’t have to read her books in order. She makes the individual volumes accessible to newcomers. You can start from any point in the series.

Duvall tells you everything you need to know to understand the plot. If they like what they’ve read, newcomers can run back to the beginning.

One of the most attractive aspects of the author’s work is the cover art. Duvall doesn’t regret leaving the traditional publishing arena because indie publishing gives her creative control over the covert art.

Because she spends so much time in the film industry, Duvall’s covers look like movie posters. This is intentional. The author wants the covers of her books to reflect the tone of each story.

Best Dianne Duvall Books

Duvall doesn’t spend every second of her week writing. She dedicates a significant portion of her time to the independent film industry. Some of her fans have probably seen her on-screen. Duvall’s best books include:

Darkness Dawns: A war between vampires and immortals is raging behind the scenes. This was news to Sarah Bingham. She was just an ordinary teacher trying to keep her students interested in their lessons. Then she encountered a wounded stranger, and everything changed.

Now, Roland is overwhelmed with desire. He can’t stop thinking about Sarah. But he doesn’t know if he genuinely loves her. There’s no doubt that she yearns for him as well.

Sarah has never seen a more intriguing man. But Roland has a secret. Like other immortals, Roland craves blood, and he cannot deny that his desire for Sarah is partly driven by his hunger.

Night Reigns: Marcus Grayden is an immortal protector. He has spent the last eight centuries defending humanity. The last thing Marcus needs is help. But Ami did not see it that way.

Marcus was fighting alone against eight vampires when she found him. Experience had taught her to steer clear of strangers. And yet, she did the right thing. She intervened, saving his life, an act Marcus did not appreciate.

The immortal can tell that Ami is a formidable woman: strong and intelligent. But the walls around his heart were erected for a reason. The last thing Marcus wants is to confront the desires stirring within him. Unfortunately, Ami isn’t giving him a choice in the matter.
