Maya Banks is an American bestseller who writes historical, paranormal, erotic, and romantic suspense. Born in 1964, Banks is a wife and mother with three children. While she prefers cats to dogs, their dog has a special place in her heart because of its connection to her publishing career.

Her daughter wanted a dog and wouldn’t take no for an answer. She went so far as to write a two-page essay explaining why a dog was vital to her existence. Banks surrendered. After a short conversation with her husband, the woman began searching for a suitable dog.
