Suzanne Brockmann is American bestselling author of romance fiction novels. She attended Boston University where she majored in film and minoring in creative writing but later dropped out to join a band. Then she met her husband and started a family, and began writing after her second child was born. Originally, she focused on screenplays, television scripts, and Star Trek novels but after critically conducting research she decided to specialize on the romance genre. Brockmann first book Future Perfect was published in 1993.

The book was written in nine manuscripts. Later in 1996, the author published the first book in her Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. The books follow a fictional team of Navy SEALS. The rest of the books in the series and that of the Troubleshooters, Inc. series are all groups in one subgenre known as the military/romance suspense. The author has gained the attention of magazines such as Bay Windows and Out which serve the gay society simply because of a subplot that focuses on the romance of a gay character in the Troubleshooters series. The author stated that she is a member of PFLAG, supporting her gay son and devoting Hot Target (2004) to him.

Brockmann has won and been nominated for various awards, for instance, she is a two-time winner of the RITA Award granted to her by the Romance Writers of America. Subsequently, she was featured on the Romance Writers of America Honor Roll for having been featured in USA Today bestseller list. Furthermore, she won the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Awards in 1996, 1998 and 1999. The author also won 1997, 2000 and 2002 Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Series Romance.

These are two best books written by Suzanne Brockmann, Over the Edge and Gone Too Far.

Over the Edge: Sr. Chief Stan Wolchonok witnesses Teri Howe being sexually harassed and wonders why she does not punch the guy? However, it turns out that Teri has a problem with confidence and dynamic behavior. So Stan decides to work with Teri on assertiveness training. Even though he is crazy in love with her, he decides to fix her up with a handsome young man who can treat her the way a lady should be treated.

In the meanwhile, terrorists hijack a commercial plane bound for Greece and force it to land in Kazbeskistan. Aboard the aircraft is Gina Vitagliano, who becomes the one hostage through whom the group of terrorist communicates.

SEAL team 16 is sent to rescue the hostages with Sam Starrett running the whole operation. The FBI also sends in Max Baghat and his group which includes Alyssa Locke to either negotiate or stall the terrorists long enough for the SEAL to rescue.

While in this hostile country, Stan and Teri connect, while Sam and Alyssa write script another chapter in their love story. Max and Gina are also introduced, and we also learn some side story about a WWII holocaust survivor.

The main story in Over the Edge is excellent featuring a real central story of Stan and Teri. Even though Stan is not the alpha dog material like his counterpart Sam, he still makes a great hero. You will love his inner dialogue about how he feels for Teri. The author gives their story some comic touches with Stan’s efforts to set Teri up with Mike Muldoon while at the same time trying to suppress his feelings for her. Apart from the main storyline, there are other storylines introduced into the story like the WWII storyline.

Gone Too Far: In the sixth installment of troubleshooter, we meet Lieutenant Sam Starrett who in his job cannot make a single mistake, but in his private life, he has done little right. Now he is patiently waiting for a divorce and determined to stay active for his daughter’s sake. However, is met by a shocking discovered when he shows at the door of his ex-wife, finds her daughter gone and body of a woman lying on the floor.

On the other hand, Alyssa Locke relationship with Sam has been intense and nearly catastrophic, but still, it refuses to end. The Last time to set eyes on Sam was six months earlier when they were on a mission together to stop the assassination of the US president. To her surprise, she is assigned to lead the homicide case, and once again the two find themselves face to face.

When information surfaces, linking Sam to the unsolved assassination case, the stakes are raised, and her reputation now hangs in the balance, and soon Alyssa finds herself faced with an almost impossible dilemma, to arrest the man she believes is not guilty or ultimately risk her career.
