  1. I had stopped reading Connelly a few books ago, because they seemed so repetitive, but maybe I should go back. My favorites are Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva, Genevieve Lenard series by Estelle Ryan, Jack Reacher series by Lee Child but there are many, many more that I love – just not in the top 3.

  2. I recommend both the Alexandra Cooper series by Linda Fairstein, as I just finished up the book Killer Look in where the DA died in her arms from a drive by shooting. But Alex had just found out the boss was crooked and may have led to her kidnapping. Another series that I have been reading are the Lincoln Rhyme books by Jeffrey Deaver, I would have to say my favorite so far is The Coffin Dancer. But I think my favorite, are a two-part story-line by Lisa Unger, Sliver of Truth and Beautiful Lies. Ridley learns that she is not who she thinks she is and was actually kidnapped at the hands of her biological father and raised by his best friend who knew he was a killer. .

  3. Just finished David Baldacci’s The Fix and would recommend. Especially liked the growing of the relationships of the main characters and would recommend reading in a chronological order as this site makes so easy to do.

  4. The last book I read I just finished a day ago… Genteel Spirits by Alice Duncan. It is the 5th book in the series, and I have started the 6th book in the Daisy Gumm Majesty Series, Ancient Spirits. I usually read these “cozy” murder mysteries on my Kindle Paperwhite at night before going to sleep in my bed with all the lights out. It feels sort of like reading under the sheets with a flashlight, which I swear I never did do as a child!!!

  5. The last book I read was If I’m Found by Terri Blackstock. It is the second in the If I Run series. Not as good as the first one, but it is a continuation of the story and I can’t wait to read the next (last?) one!

  6. The last book I read was The Heiress of Lin Hagh by Karen Charlton. Liked it a lot. Is the first of her series with Detective Lavender. Looking forward the next one in the series. I am also reading the Paris Bookshop by Nina George. A book passed unto me by my daughter. I would recommend both of these. I read one e-book, and one Hardback or Paperback at the same time. Ebook in the evening and the other during the day. Love them all. If I could figure out a way to crochet or knit and read at the same time I would.

  7. I just finished “The Strange Case of Peter the Lett” by Georges Simenon – an Inspector Maigret novel. I plan to read the entire series – 75 books!

  8. The last book I read is The Alchemist, I promptly gave my copy to a friend it is a book I love and have told several people about it.

  9. I just finished The Dark Tower by Stephen King. I’ll be seeing the movie as well as I am curious how the story will look on the big screen.

    1. Totally agree! I just finished this book and hated for it to end. I loved the characters, and the premise was totally new (to me, at least).

  10. I’m reading Kiss Carlo by Adriana Trigiani. I’m hoping she has returned to her roots for this book. I did not enjoy her detour into celebrity biography with Her last book.

  11. Just fininshing “THE FIX” by David Baldacci
Just recently found this author and really enjoying reading his books

  12. Okay, last book I read, is “She loves me not”, by Wendy Cosi Staub. About to start another one by her, she is freaking awesome!

  13. I’m currently reading The Summer Guest and started On The Origin Of Species hoping it would be a sleeping pill. Not so much!

  14. I’m currently reading the newest Ann Swinfen book, “The Merchant’s Tale.” I love a good medieval mystery, and she fills in where Margaret Frazer left off when she died. I read Swinfen’s book “The Huntsman’s Tale” just before that. I’ll probably go into withdrawal waiting for her to write another….

  15. The last book read was from the Annie’s Attic cozy mystery series. The Spicy Secret. I am now reading Roseanna White’s A Name Unknown

  16. Recent books by Ken Follett are just great. His early works were a little stilted, but the series building a cathedral in medieval England was wonderful, if a little long.

  17. LAst book read: Caput Mundi (Dark Song of Blood) by Ben Pastor, a series about a German army captain in WW2, working with an Italian inspector. Not really a mystery (although there are murders to be solved), wonderful sense of German occupation (esp. army vs. SS, and Vatican involvement) Rome in the days before the Americans entered. The problem is that only the first 4 books have been translated (or are available to me), and I’d love to know what happens to Captain (now
    Col.) Bora.

  18. I have just finished the Harry Potter series, again, because I absolutely love it. The movies were great but, of course, you get so much more with the books. I always felt a little disappointed that the last movie didn’t follow the book’s words for the final fight between Harry and Voldemort. In the book they circle round each other in the great hall, surrounded by everyone to see, until Harry defeats him and later repairs his own wand with the Elder Wand which he gives up. I think that’s how it should have been in the movie.

Anyway, I also just want to say that your OrderofBooks.com is a great resource. For example, following your recommendation, my husband got into the John Wells series and read all the books so far. Thank you, for all your hard work and keep it up, please! 🙂

  19. The Third Bullet by Stephen Hunter, Have moved on to “The Day before Midnight” on your recommendation.

  20. Recently Among the Ruins by Ausma Zehanat Khan was recommended to me. It is Khan’s third book in her series and I look forward to “catching up” with the first two. The main characters are complex and believable and the political scene in which the novel takes place is well documented and for me quite educational. Thank you for your wonderful websites and all the information you provide — and your generous giveaway.

  21. I just finished Invictus, by Simon Scarrow. Always a pleasure to spend some time with my old friends Cato and Macro.

  22. Currently rereading the Argeneau Vampire series by Lynsay Sands. One of the most original vampire series going

  23. I finished The Post Mistress by Sarah Blake. I read the first few pages in the book store and was certain I’d come across a new favorite author but into the second half was very disappointed. Story set in Franklin , Mass. and Europe during WWII. The London Blitz in the first half is definitely worth the read. In fact, the book is worth reading just know that it’s uneven; I was more interested in the female reporter than I was the postmistress

  24. The last book I read was Proof Positive by Philip Margolin. Number 3 in the Amanda Jaffe series. I realized that there are books by Margolin that I had not read, so I looked him up on orderofbooks.com and am going back to read those I missed.
There are other authors for which I am doing the same.

  25. Just read The Wrong Side of Goodbye by Michael Connelly. If you like Chandler-type mysteries, then this is for you.

  26. I recently finished Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I was reading it for our high school librarian. I enjoyed it immensely.

  27. I finished Dressed To Confess by Diane Vallere, a very good series with costumes in Proper, Nevada.
