The Hollywood series comprises novels with different characters and diverse plots. However, the series of novels have a commonality in theme, as they focus on the theme of celebrities, scandal, and power in Hollywood. Collins made a name for herself as a raunchy writer, and the series is no different as it is full of head spinning sex right from the first page of each novel right to the last.
The first novel in the series “Hollywood Wives” tells of the life and times of several women in Hollywood that include young innocent newcomers, vivacious screen vixens, screenwriters, and longtime talent agents among others. The women share hot gossip, and dine on salads at the Bistro and lunch at the Ma Maison. Their shopping is more of an art form and happens in the high-end designers such as Gucci and Giorgio Armani, where they drive in their Rolls and Mercedes.
No luxury is enough if they cannot have the most beautiful body that they achieve at Body Asylum and Workout. For the contemporary romance reader, the novel would be a delightful read, full of privileged women who live on the rise and fall of their friends, even as their ticket to the high life is a rich and famous husband. The novel is testament to the exceptional skills of Collins that the series of novels is still popular years after first publication

BEST HOLLYWOOD BOOKS
Hollywood Wives: The first novel that has been made into a movie is one of the best novels in the Hollywood series of novels. Delving into the raunchy lifestyles of the rich and famous, it is a welcome entertaining read that is different from the usual romantic or mystery novels typical to Hollywood.
Hollywood Wives – The New Generation: This is a charming narrative about Hollywood women who always get what they want. Lissa Roman is a beautiful music and movie superstar in her forties, married to a young gold digger who treats her like trash and cheats on her. Nicci Stone her daughter is a hormone filled teenager who loves to party and is engaged to a gorgeous filmmaker named Evan, only to discover that she likes his brother better. Taylor Singer is Roman’s friend and a wannabe producer and actress married to a wealthy man, who forbids her from acting in racy movies. Taylor will have none of it, as she believes she has to do whatever it takes including cheating on him with a stoned young screenwriter to pay her way into fame.
Hollywood Husbands: This is another enthralling read in the Hollywood series of novels. In true masterpiece fashion, Collins writes of some of the most colorful of characters in a novel that starts at a fast clip and never slows down for over 500 pages. Its characters include a billionaire studio head that never takes no for an answer, a teenage thing of a rock star, a cocaine dependent studio head, a charismatic television host losing his edge, and a mirthless and mysteriously aloof movie star, all of whom are in a constant struggle to remain relevant.
